echønoeë is an unfolding series of photogravure prints developed through a dialogue between AI-generated imagery and traditional printmaking. Emerging from the Crosscurrents exhibition, which explored coastal ecologies and speculative sculptural forms, the series imagines liminal beings—creatures washed ashore, hinting at worlds below the surface.
Each image is generated through a mixture of text and visual prompts, seeking a sensory, haptic visuality that unsettles the boundary between the real and the imagined. Rather than remain in the digital realm, the forms are translated into copper plates and printed by hand, bringing speculative digital encounters back into the tactile register of ink, paper, and press.
The series reflects an ongoing exploration of responsiveness to materials and environments, situating the prints as contingent artefacts of exchange—between artist and machine, digital and analogue, surface and depth.
